School Closures

St. Oliver's will re-open on Thursday, August 28th 2025

  • Doors Open at 8:40 am
  • Classes commence at 8:50am
  • Junior and Senior Infant classes finish at 1:30 pm
  • 1st to 6th Classes finish at 2:30 pm

The school will be closed on the following dates

  • October Mid-term  -  Monday 27th to Friday 31st October 2025
  • December Church Holiday - Monday 8th December 2025
  • Christmas Holidays  -  Friday 19th December 2025 to Friday 2nd Jan 2026 (School closes on Friday 19th @ 12 noon and re-opens on Monday 5th of January 2026)
  • February Bank Holiday:  Monday 2nd of February 2026
  • Mid Term Break- Thurs 19th and Friday 20th February 2026
  • St. Patrick's Day  - Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th March 2026
  • Easter Holidays - Monday 30th March to Friday 10th April inclusive. (Closing on Friday 27th April @ 12 noon and re-opening on Monday 13th April 2026)
  • May Bank Holiday -  Monday 4th May 2026
  • June Bank Holiday - Monday 1st June 2026

Yellow Flag Diary

Diary: September-December 2016.

  • Ashoka participants visit to St Oliver’s School. Presentation by YF Committee pupils Dean and Rebeca on the work of the Yellow Flag Programme.
  • KASI visit to 5th classes-A sharing of stories, cultures, languages, challenges and experiences from Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
  • Project work on countries across the world.
  • Project work on Women past and present who have made a difference.
  • Art preparation and submission of work to the Yellow Flag art competition.
  • Continuing work on Yellow Flag corners.
  • Thanksgiving Celebration-School diner with 140 participating!
  • The different foods eaten at Christmas and other winter festivals around the world. Food prepared at home and brought to school and enjoyed by class mates.
  • Co-operation hard work and fun by all pupils in Nativity/Christmas play.
  • Our diverse choir performing carols in different languages
  • Wear Red Day 25th of November-A sea of red clothing throughout the school. Assemblies discussed racism, respect, inclusiveness and equality.
  • Art Project by Egle Saladziute and the pupils of St Oliver’s. Sponsored by Kerry County Council. Exhibit hosted in the Community. A project begun during the IMAD days last April where artist and children explored their thoughts, memories importance and significance of their Grandparents in their lives.
  • Committee meetings and first full committee meeting with our new members. Lots of wonderful ideas and suggestions by all.
  • Sincere thanks to all the committee, the pupils, parents extended community and our staff for all their support throughout 2016.
