  School Closures

St. Oliver’s is a vibrant, active and dynamic school where the children are given every opportunity and encouraged to reach their full potential in a safe friendly environment.

Sport

At St. Oliver’s we offer a wide variety of indoor and outdoor sports including:

  • Football
  • Soccer
  • Basketball
  • Table Tennis
  • Badminton
  • Swimming
  • Gymnastics
  • Irish Dancing

Music

Music plays an active role in St. Oliver’s. The choir is an after-school activity open to all pupils from 3rd-6th class. Over the years, the choir has performed in many school and community events. We have had lots of fun along the way.

KASI

Since 2015 a canteen which offers hot food daily to pupils and staff has been operated by KASI (Killarney Asylum Seekers Initiative). Vegetables are supplied from our school garden and a delicious menu is circulated weekly.

Digital Learning

As part of our school improvement plan, we are increasing the use of digital technology in St. Oliver’s. Each class is equipped with an interactive whiteboard as well as regular access to iPads and most recently bee bots. We are always striving to increase digital literacy to enhance teaching and learning in our school.

Outdoor Learning

St. Oliver’s National School has its’ very own forest on the school grounds. This provides a fantastic resource for fun outdoor learning experiences. Many lessons take place out here throughout the year and the children have an opportunity to take part in the Forest Schools Programme. The emphasis of this programme is on child-led play and exploration.
