  School Closures

We are delighted that our school has been sucessful in our application for this Comenius Project. We will be working alongside 12 other European countries. Our project will encompas the theme of plants and trees in our local environment. It will be cross-circular in interdisciplinary with hands-on activities leading to research based work using head heart and hands; all our senses ! Schools will have a 2 year lasting expanding exhibition. We will have meetings to exchange material , evaluate results and join the local project work. Everything will be published on the Comenius Website. We hope to encourage the contribution of local experts, ie farmers, scientists, artists etc and relevant organisations. We have chosen the POTATO as our main plant and we hope to develop the history of the potato and potato cultivation, recipes and food production. This is going to be a very exciting project and parents' participation will be very welcome. Our first meeting will be heldinTirnavos,Greece between 7th-14th October 2012 and Mrs. Maired Kerrisk (co-ordinator), Mr.Tommy Galvin and Ms Claire O'Sullivan will attend this meeting. We hope the project website will be up and running after this meeting and it will keep you informed of all future developments.
