PARENTS NEWSLETTER OCTOBER 2022
Friday 28th Oct. is a full school day finishing at 2.30 pm as normal.
Halloween Fancy Dress
All pupils are invited to come to school on Friday 28th wearing their Halloween costumes. There will be a Halloween disco in the school hall for all classes up to 4th class with each class group in the halla at different times. The 5th and 6th classes will help with the Infant Classes so it should be great fun for everyone. We are asking everyone to bring in €2 as a fundraiser and all money raised will go the local charity, the Kenya Schools Project. Eddie Sheehy is a retired teacher from Killarney who undertakes to build, support and finance schools for children in Kenya.

Parent/Teacher Meetings
These meetings will return to Face-to-Face meetings this year.
They will take place over two evenings and all parents will be invited to meet with their child’s class teacher and support teachers.
Just like last year, parents will be able to book time slots that suit through the Aladdin school app.
These meetings will take place on November 16th /17th.
Traffic Congestion
A reminder to keep the wheelchair parking spaces free for those people who need access to them.
Also, please avoid stopping or parking directly outside the school gates as it holds up the flow of traffic and leads to congestion.
Healthy Eating Policy
As part of our Healthy Eating Policy, we are asking parents to refrain from sending party bags or treats to your child's class on the occasion of their birthdays etc. We understand fully how eager children are to celebrate their birthdays and special occasions with their friends, but would respectfully ask that any invite to parties and treats are given outside of the classroom.
There are children with allergies in many classes and we don't want anyone to suffer a reaction to something they may unknowingly eat. We appreciate your cooperation with this.
St. OLIVER’S SCHOOL HATS
Now as at the weather is turning colder, we can remind parents and pupils that school hats with our School Logo are available to purchase from the office. They cost 15 euro each.
MID TERM BREAK
A reminder that school is closed next week Monday 31st October – Friday 4th November and will re-open on Monday November 9th.
Wishing everyone an enjoyable break over Halloween.
